Second Chance
In the Spring of 2022, I was inflicted with a rare autoimmune response called "Sudden Deafness". During this episode, my hearing steadily diminished, until after about 3 weeks, I was stone deaf in both ears......
Fortunately, several weeks of heavy steroids helped to restore my hearing. During these treatments, hearing returned in only my left ear at first. At this time, not knowing how this disease was going to end, I recorded "Second Chance" with only one ear. It was possible that this might be my last song......
It was a very stressful time indeed!!
But using the "mono" setting to balance the stereo line, I was able to get the song completed in exactly the mix that you hear today.
Soon after, in the middle of the night, sound returned to my right ear! It was then that I made a promise to myself and to God that I would never let this "Second Chance" go to waste......
